Global affairs

17- 02- 2015

Today we had global affairs and it was about what alimentar habits and the influence of the meal in the real life. Charles Barstow was the guest-He has studied anthropology, botany and philosophy and now works as a butcher on an organic farm in Vermont in the United States. He is also a graduate of UWC-USA '08- divided ourselves in tree groups for debate. I was in the group about:''should the meat be totally forbiden?''. In a circle, we could discuss about several points, as: food chain (during the transmition of energy the animals lost their energy, what mean we should just eat the productor, become vegetarian); the terrible way how the animals die in the butchers; meat is not essential; cows produces a lot of metane, gas responsible for climatic challenges; a lot of hormones they give to the animals which make the meal even bad for us.
solutions for avoid the consumption:
-Increase the prices of the meal.
Favorable to the consumption of meal:
We could eat, but under control;
There's a lot of other cruelity, as using the enviromental to produce clothes, so... even people become vegetarian, we still have problems with destruction.
-Vegetables must be consider a life as well, even if they don't have nervous system, they should be respected.

But I would say one of the most impontant moments was when Varsan- from Somalia- said about the history of her country. How people have no option and they need deeeply to work with meat for keep their economies. And the question was: in many parts of the world people are just saying how they don't want to eat meat and even force others to dont, while in many countries it is so essential?

Interfaith day

Today was the interfaith day in our school...
I am in a serious mood right now... So, let's use it ;)
I don't have words to describe what I could learn today. If It could be possible, I'd like to use a camera and register every single moment again just to make sure I didn't lost any part of me rememberings.
But now I will try to keep it fresh.
Yesterday me and Kelao started to prepare at 8 pm. Was 2:30 in the morning of today and we didn't do anything. Just a little bit of insipiration. But not that much. The ideas looked like never will come anything new or important. We kind of fight with each other: how could be so hard the task to talk about what more inspire our lifes?
I was draped in the concepts. I woud like to explain what the christian religion means. Or take historical concepts. But Kealo said: Thaíza I don't want to do something just for give informations!! God should be more than wikipedia. God move inside our hearts! He lives! If it is not for inspire, please, let's finish it right now.
And It was a big ''slap'' of the reality in my face. I was not loving God anymore. Bascily profecing something I was not living actually. And I felt like God was not inspiring anymore. I didn't have the desire to read his word. The desire to be paixonated for him. The desire to pray and dont let his presence anymore.

Maybe the crucial point of my day was that. Was remember how I didnt remember my Jesus friend. Remember how that God is amazing. Remember the old times.

I apreciate so much the testimonies. All of them, so interesting. Some more personal, some more informational. I liked so much when Rizwan said: ''you cannot put the world in your box of religious view, instead, you should use the world to see your religion''. He was refering to the terrorism. I like so much May's testimony: I could learn so much about her religion and meditation spaces.
I liked the Sylla's meditation, even I couln'd concentrate myself properly (couldnt stop to think about the testimony thing).

During our workshop, basicly we wacthed a video about God like an architect of our lifes. And another one about ciency X religion. The debates make me think a lot and carry so many questions. And in the same time to reflect about concepts about christianity I have lost for long time...

I realize how much more time I should expendo with God and enjoying his presence.

About the family: they are awesome. I felt really confortable with them. Simple people, smiling. Like it.
And they have habbit!! yeaaah! So cool!
They are black.
I still don't know their names, but well. I will have time for that.
I am happy to be here.
I really enjoyed to know diferent people and to know diferent ways of ''german family''.
Everyday Germany become more and more home for me.

Well, no deep fellings.

Just observations.

Segunda host-family

Fizemos roocklet (sorry, I really dont know how to write it), depois jogamos um jogo de adivinhar as palavras em Alemão e depois fomos dormir, basicamente.

28/12/2014

Yesterday I arrived from Swtzerland to Freiburg and I am actually in my second host family. I am really glad to be here. They are awesome and knew new people is always awesome. I can notice the spirity of each family and how they fell confortable. Where are the bondaries and until where should I go.

Today I wake up and a nice surprise was there: SNOWWWWWWW !EVERYWHERE!!

Today I went to church. One bus and two trains. My first experience going alone inside of Freiburg. I went to church. It was 'wunderbar'. They played againg the music:
http://letras.mus.br/outbreakband/mittelpunkt/

And the service was about fear. I never had a better service here in Freiburg. We didn't have so many people, maybe the most of them was traveling somewhere. And yeah, the preacher (wich I forget the name now) told about the fast we will do togheter to the next days. I am really looking foward to that. I think I will do about facebook.
And for 2015 I really want to be more conected with God. Of course, I want to come back to school full of ambitions, but in the same way I want it is connected with God interests. I want to do meaninfull things, of course, but I ask for His wisdom. And that time to winter break is ,of course, to reflect about that as well.

My plans for now:

-Do my antropoplogy
-Finish my Self-taugh
-Read mere christianism
-Read The dreams of God to my life

-Do a list of Goals do the next term
-Separe everything I am gratefull about what God have made in my life at my UWC experience.
What should I do again. What should I do diferent.
*How to make the experience be the best possible.

And well. I came back safe from the church. When I came back I didn't know the way, and my host mother didn't give me exactly point of the train I should take. Luckely a boy in the middle of the way help me. And even inside of the train I was always asking people. The proverb with say: How has mouth go to Rome is completely right!

For the next time I need to take the address and provide a german number. Without the help of one woman who take the sabe bus as me, I have now idea what should happen!! I was completely lost.
She call my host mother, and I come back to house.

During the way we talk a bit together. Sometimes I can notice how much experience I sttil have to adquire. To know people, to figure out with kind of people I should trust. I am even so inocent for that world. UWC happen outside of the campus. UWC happen outside of the classroons I guess.

Well, I am still trying to define what UWC means.

Haha

Então é Natal

Bem, hoje tive outro dia maravilhoso. Fiquei tao lisonjeada.
Hoje eles me levaram a neve.

Eu me quero de volta e me quero à frente. Nunca vou saber onde exatamente meu espírito está pousando. Espero me orgulhar muito de quem me tornarei a diante.
Eu me senti um pouco ignorada.
