To what extent should we condemn the use of ''political correctness'' and ''religious'' as a measurement for ''social sins'' and ''religious sins''?

Today I was reflecting whether political correctness and also religiousness should be banned or avoided. Because I always hold the idea that political correctness -as everything is a ''social sin''- the fact that you need to imitate your vocabulary to do not say ''pussy'', ''coon'', ''nigger'', because they are all derogatory terms. And when it comes to religion the idea that you can not say something because will affect certain religious person and so one, even though what they are referring to are just symbols and not more than that (Isn't a religion more than its simbols?).
I don't want to be a demagogue and just talk things that I don't really believe in.
I believe in Jesus Christ, and everyone knows and everyone think that I am a religious person because of that. I don't like the little for many reasons that I can write later.
Once I experienced that a friend of mine who is not very religious said ''Holy shit'' near to me and he apologized after. I never asked him to be super respectful of to be polite in his manners, but his principle of respect was very noticeable and I was very amused by his attitude. Another time another friend of mine said 'Holy shit'' and it didn't bothered her even for a mile of second... And of course, I felt that was very dismissive by her.
I never asked someone to be respectful, but I highly appreciate when it happens, because it has something to say about the person him-herself not about my beliefs.
But I am writing this to talk about this ''respect towards beliefs'' itself.
But what I came to argue with myself is whether this  ''respect towards beliefs'' is just an ''ego desire'' or not.  Let's say that religious people especially -and look that I really emphasize it- since we so often assume that people decide to their religion due their personal experience of enlightenment, right?
And suddenly they feel a lot of affection and devotion to symbols that meaningfull make them remember that spiritual encounter.
But them they forget that all the one thousand people whom live around them didn't have the same enlightenment and they do not feel any respect or any connection to the symbols.
But them -still- the religious people will make them to feel bad for ''do not respecting'' something. Something that they never had to respect because they did not have any spiritual enlightenment!
Isn't that at least selfish?
In my opinion it really is! But well, I might confess that I am still selfish to some extent even though I humanly try to do not be.
Now talking about political correctness, I am really concerned towards sexist and racist coments. Because I know that is a slippery slope: in one hand, correcting that jokes, you can create a totalitarian perception of what is a ''social sin or not'' (and that is why I think that Religion and Political Correctness are more similar than what people may think); while in another hand you see that people need education when they do this comments, because if they really mean it, it is very alarming for this society.
I don't lie here. I also feel bothered by certain sexist, racist and all this ''ist''s jokes that exists. But I feel more worried when it is not a joke, and people really mean those things.
I've heard this last weak from a nurse:
''Yeah, you know... I have to work in a hospital so late in the night because this young people who drink a lot faint and I need to recover them. There are EVEN young ladies among then.''
Really? I wish that it was a joke. I just wish that.
With political correctness or not, with racist, sexist jokes or not, I just hope the society becomes aware of that things and do not get lost in being picky and pointing out ''social sins''. Because it is a unseless as caring for the icing in the cake but do not change the flavor if the cake itself.  I just hope that the society have a real development and education to be aware that certain things are not okay: lack of education is not funny!

Naughty life in a small village 26/12- 27/12

I just come from this party in Emmendingen (X-Party)
Was an experience.
Honestly was very boring... I feel like I stand there for hours without dance, without party. Now I have a new category for what is a worthwhile party: when I am able to move my hips. Otherwise it is a waste of time, money and energy.
Nevertheless was quite interesting experience to be there.
I could even consider that as my Anthropology ethnograph: comparison between a party in a village and a party in a city.
According to Helena (the daugther of the friend of my host mother and who was making me company) this was a tipical village celebration. And just happen 3 times a year, meaning that you need to go! Because they use that time to talk with old kindergarten friends, for example. I indeed found very strange they were not moving -I will not use the excuse that they are germans because I've seeing germans moving in other german party hehe- but they were just talking in groups! Why? Why would you stay in a lould place and not go somewhere else is you just want to talk? But that was the point of the party.Peharps to drink -OH YES! A LOT OF GRUNK GERMANS: Here I will definetly use the excuse that they are germans, therefore they drunk a lot. But was, indeed, not a party ''to party'' or dance.

Impression:
-old men drinking and colliding drunk in each other
-boring german song most of the time that even the germans were bored by
-no one was dancing, just the few very drunk people  whom were so drunk that they would dance even with there was no music at all
-Cute old boy who talked to me (why so old? :( )

I've danced more with my church songs in Brazil than I danced in a village party with ''party band''. Just for you to have an idea how bad was the song.
Another thing that was hilarious was that I still don't know If I was bored or drunk in the beggining. I never got drunk in my life, I don't know how it feels. And yesterday I drunk 4 coups of sparkling chaimpaing. I felt a bit dizzy, but was really just a bit. As I don't know how much alcoohol makes me feel tipsy anyways, I thought that could be the alcohol. But as the party as so boring, I thought I could just be sleep. hahah

Last UWC German Christmas celebration

Me and Ziyi -from China- celebrating Christmas with the same host family

Details of the landscape they built themselves. One of the most pretty I've seen in my life.

HEHEHEH

I agree that we can have life styles that guide us to happiness. Personally, find happiness is achieved looking at small things and appreciating then, it is about looking even for the negative side of life and trying to take good abstractions, lessons and other opportunities from it. Happiness for me is a matter of perspective and I think we are able to manage our perspectives, meaning that ,yes, we can teach ourselves how to be happy. The old idea of ''look at the positive side of life!''.I like the idea, I think we can teach ourselves happiness, nevertheless I step back when it says that ''do not educate children to be rich''. And if people find happiness with their achievements, with their ambitions, with their bank numbers? If I agree that happiness achievement is subjective, who am I to say that a person can not find the value of things when they find its price? My mom always teached me that certain things were expensive and I should save money and I should not be a consumerist person. We need to take also in account that knowing the prices, at some extent has the mechanism itself of making us valorizing things. And when I say that I am incuding people who become richer and sucessfull afterwards and they learned how to give value for things exactly because they knew what absences of things means. The hard path to get in sucess increased the value they give to things, since they had to work hard for it. I also challenge that notion that I just tryied to anwser (TOK moment): who I am to say that happiness is even necessarily shared when we have to find value in things? (Can't I just watch a single theatre play, for example, that do not have any moral value to teach me and find it funny and relaxing?).

Meu Deus do céu... quase morri <3
Comi uns 8 heheh.

Serie ''winter-night-break-day-daily-lines'': Abstractions 13-12-2015

1) Discovered that the symbolism as scissors and bretzel and others in the down part of the windows in the Cathedral Münster represented the weaver and the baker and others... Because was a way the richer path of society to make the worker class fell included in the process of building the church

2) Also discover that my host mom works in the Freiburg Augustine Museum and I can go to her new office whenever I want YEY (WIE COOL :P ) and also that the Augustine Museum has 5 different kind of museums: the one for Freiburg history; the one for Archeologic; human and nature relation (Tobi would love that one with all his heart- if he do not already); the one for modern art (*_*); and the open space for different exhibitions, If I am not mistaken.

3) The east side of the small sales tend around Münster are local producers, meaning that buying there is a great opportunity to enhance value to local production.

4) Ice skating is suuuuuuuuuuper amazing! And wet and slippery

5) Buying Kebab in Kebab House is much nicer than if you go to a fancy Turkish restaurant (please, never put the salad and the tomato sauce outside of the Yufka again. N e v e r again)

6) Pay attention when you're going back from Gottenheim to the train that stops at Bahlingen: the second tram just do not announce the stops.

7) Remember the difference between Eliada and Odisseia. You're being hosted for Greek lovers. What is just AMAZING :P

8) The highest point of the day was the time when I was in the book story near to the Haupbanhof  and I found this cartoon:

that is in German and Portuguese. The author is the Portuguese Alexandra Kloboux and she graduate in graphic design in Berlin. (take more information here http://www.alexandraklobouk.com/Lissabon-im-Land-am-Rand). Her cartoon was just the most ''mimosa'' (the most near translation for that would be ''Cute’ ‘or ''lovely'') that I've seen since I arrive in Germany. She basically describe Portuguese land, costumes, Arabic influence, social habits (as saying all the names in the diminutive as ''beijinho'' for example which means literally’ ‘small kiss'' but applies as tender kiss... Well, Portuguese from Portugal and its diminutives make it sounds so affectionable and lovely. Portuguese from Portugal is the cutest thing is the world for me...)
She also talked about the dictatorship of Salazar from the 1932 until 1974 and how right after second world war there was this ''Estado Novo'' period that make his dictatorial government collapse with the ''Revolução dos cravos''. She brings out all the aspects, political social, cultural in such a way that is not making it irrelevant, but brings it out in a relaxing manner...
I found myself laughing at the cartoon so many times. Was amazing <3

Thank you for this moment, book. I migh buy you.

Some funny + thoughtful cartoons:

Some theatre pictures of last term:

Serie ''winter-night-break-day-daily-lines'': First day of winter break 18-12-2015

Now I am in Nahmir's host familly. This last days have being intense. I am officially in my winter break now. Will be less than 3 weeks and I am still figuring out whether I am going to Innsbruck, or not. I also wanted to go to Prague, but to stay there for just 3 days is costing 120 euros, what is extremely expensive for me right now. :( I am wondering if I can expent the last days in Innsbruck now that is cheaper.
Besides that, I have plenty of work to do over this break actually. Need to read pretty much all the books of self-taught and some more 4 books that I took about politics, capitalism, poverty etc. that I guess they are amazing!
There we go!!! ;P

But is not just intellectual growth that I am expecting from this break. I also want to reflect upon all the things that happened -even fastily than last year.
I want to set few plans that I have thought for this new year for the last and more remarkable semester that I will have at UWC.
3/4 of the UWC Pizza is basically gone ):
For this new semester I hope I have more time for my loved friends and that will be in the top of my list of personal ambitions.
2016. WELCOME!
Ps: here follow some pictures of the winter ball that happened on 12th December.

Question of the day 21/11/2015 : Intervention from the State and population satisfaction

http://tribunadoceara.uol.com.br/diversao/teatro/artistas-que-celebram-o-anus-dizem-que-espetaculo-sofre-preconceito-por-tabus-da-sociedade/

A lot of people complained because they didn't like it and was financed with the money of the State. In this case, how can we assure the decisions that are being taken are right? Because is impossible for a State to please everyone, since the actor who were financed loved the idea, what can't be applied to other sectors of the society. In what extend then the State could become an dictature?

Question of the day 16/11/2015

I wonder since did the Calvinist teology become the more important religions to the born of USA when they move from Britain -what make US become after such a capitalist country- if the concept of free will is precisely being able to untie the route destination, being free to build it?

a shot in the status quo mainstream mentality 15/11/2015

During my life I had to learn how to be very communist for a capitalist person. Or how to be very libertarian for someone who believe in equality. I had to learn how to have heretic thoughts to be a christian and to have to many ''christian views'' to be a feminist etc. I had to learn how to calm down and be conservative when there is an hysterical scream for constant change in a world that people says all the values are completely wrong. I had to be secular when people wanted to remain using the mechanism of one thousand years ago as logical for nowadays.
I had to learn how to be a wandering sheep when everyone wanted me to be part of a herd of status quo ideas.
I had to learn how to think by myself.
Due all the events that are happening right now I decided to write about something else I have being in silence for so long, but but aroused according to the recent events. All life matters, I have learned it and will stuck for that. In France, in Brazil, in Lebanon, in Syria. Everywhere. We should cry because they are lifes and all of them are important. And all of them deserve attention and prayers and compassion. Because besides their race, social status, nation, religion, they are humans. All life's counts to God. All lives are as important as I am looking for Jesus himself.

Mattews 25:35-45
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’
44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’
45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’
I will write about my views towards abortion. People migh pre-judge ''oh, she is religious, she will be necessarary against it.'' (I am kind of tired to explain I don't see my self as a follower of religion, but someone who seek for spiritual guidance) But doesn't matter. If it is easy for you to call me religious, whatever. ''I am''.
What I most hate about someone calling me religious are the labels. I hate the labels. I also would hate to be labeled as feminist, or a communist, or capitalist or whatever. I have doing a lot of introspection to discover how difficult is to label myself. Not because ''we never know ourselves completely'' but because the external concepts have an infinitude of connotations but not an denotation. And my trust is reasoned in that eternal sense of no denotation among that meanings. I don't know what is feminism, christianity, capitalism, communism. Whatever it means for you It might not meant for me. I am stil figuring out.I accept the only answer I have is I don't have any answer. Since we might not agree in everything towards this concepts I will not risk to label myself into that patterns.
I am and individual besides my beliefs. I am not necessarily part of a cattle os status quo reasoning for any kind of belief, being that political or of religious order.
Said that, I am ''christian''. At least trying to find my own answers for reasoning to my personal beliefs. Trying to be a human being and give dignity to others. You might be a christian and disagree with me in so many points. You might say I am not in communion with God enough and my spiritual life is lacking in many senses. You might be right, but I am not here to please you.
I support gay marriage because it is not my business. Because it is a right of someone else and I have not right to selfishly stop it.
As I said, I promissed to do not please you. I still don't know what does right and left wing means. Not for lack of knowledge but for exessively research and inquiries.
I am favorable to the human rights, but I just hate when the human rights are so bias. When they protect the black-minority being oppressed in the favelas but do not give any voice when the cops are brutally murdered by marginals.
I am against abortion because I am favorable to the human rights. The very basic knowledge shows me that a basic human right is the opportunity to born.
So far the main arguments pro-abortion are:
-Fathers ''comitt abortion'' when they abandon their children. (So, wouldn't be fair for the mom to also commit abortion?)
-If you do not give support for the baby, you are in favor of birth and not pro-life.
-The abortion is allowed in terms of rape because was sex without consentiment. I personally support that kind of abortion (since it happens in the first weeks of pregnancy time). Nevertheless, there is an argument far away more subjective that says women have being ''raped'' in the society by the sexual media exploration of standards of beauty, for social coercion towards the male dominance into the fields that says men are stronger and smarter. So basically it says: every women suffered ''rape'' somehow and since they have the right to commit abortion into the category of rape, they all should be allowed to commit abortion.
Well, I do think life matters above everything else. I acknowledge all the reasoning I mentioned towards pro-abortion, but even thought the father abandon their children, even though I can't assure the person who will born will have a dignified life, even though I know women have been oppressed for centuries... I don't believe there is any justification to do not allow someone to born.
I believe in human rights. I believe on then even when it come against the status quo of christianity beliefs as the right of gay marriage. I believe in human rights. I believe on human rights even though when it came across the liberal points of view towards the allowance of abortion.
I believe in human rights even when it comes to the point of ''merely allowance to survive or born''.
believe in human rights because I believe in the right and importance of life. ''Ah Thaíza, you're just thinking in terms of ''life'' but not in terms of ''life with dignity''. I don't think you give more dignity to anyone killing that person.
During this sequence of 18k of people be dead/missing in Japan due an earthquake; the last attacks of ISIS in Lebanon; Bombings killing 40 people in Baghdad; a recent hurricane in Mexico; terrorist attacks undergoing in Paris; the victims in Mariana and so many others cases in what people are suffering in the world. I am pro their lives. I think all the lives matter, including the one inside of the uterus of his/her mom.
Excepting the rape cases, I position myself being completely against abortion.

I just can fit inside of one an homogeneous way of thinking and I don't think if everyone disagree in everything the world would be better.
I did not escape criticism, but do not wash my hands while I can take positions.

Project week senses description task

During Proejct week we did something new every single day.
The first day we went to see the alpes view. It smelled like branches and dried leaves of autumn. We had an stonishing view from the hight of the mountains. E could see all Innsbruck cuted by a river that reminded me Dreisam.
The second day we went to a pool. The touch senses was super pleasant. Was a warm weather and not cold water. Enough to make me remember brazilian beaches.
The third day we went to our workshop of music, in what we developed body music once just Jordon was a real musicitian. The snaps and beats stuck in my mind until now.
The same day during night we eat some Austrian dishes. The bacon balls I forgot the names now was delicious, We should eat it with something else: the cabbage had an acid taste while the soup had a light but spicy flavor.
The desert tasted as brazilian pancakes. I couldn't believe what Fabian's mother was offering was an Austrian dish.
After we went to a party. A very dark place around but inside a joyful play of light. Heard a lot of Jamaican and african songs. Smelled as smoke. (I guess even though I wasn't smoking myself I ingested tobacco because of the surrounds) Was disgusting.

Question of the day 07/11/2015 : Morality

We have 7 kinds of ''cleverness''. Sportive, Matematic, Moral, etc. (don't remember all)

How can we consider the measurement of the Moral one accurate? I am not even talking in terms of moral relativism. Not at all.

For example, when we look at guys as Machiavel, who was in my opinion the biggest name of the utilitarianism, and always refer to moral values as being something superficial and unnecessary. He is not just arguing against one moral position, he's basically saying: all the moral positions are wrong. When he is affirming that he is also taking a moral position-decision.
So, considering the criterias of defining ''moral smartness'', would he be a genius of morality, or would he be the dumbest person ever on it?

What is the V-Effekt in Brecht Teory

In GermanVerfremdungseffekt signifies both alienation and distancing in a theatrical context; thus, "theatrical alienation" and "theatrical distancing". Brecht wanted to "distance" or to "alienate" his audience from the characters and the action and, by dint of that, render them observers who would not become involved in or to sympathize emotionally or to empathize by identifying individually with the characters psychologically; rather, he wanted the audience to understand intellectually the characters' dilemmas and the wrongdoing producing these dilemmas exposed in his dramatic plots. By being thus "distanced" emotionally from the characters and the action on stage, the audience could be able to reach such an intellectual level of understanding (or intellectual empathy); in theory, while alienated emotionally from the action and the characters, they would be empowered on an intellectual level both to analyze and perhaps even to try to change the world, which was Brecht's social and political goal as a playwright and the driving force behind his dramaturgy.

Wednesday CAS Reflection; Theatre; Anthro 28/10/2015 Highlights of the day

CAS Reflection
I finally worked in the other class with the seeds. I am super excited for the workshop we will do soon (by the way: I love how ambitious and professional is the woman who is working with us -Rebeca is her name- she has high standards of work). Felt homesick to see the cutie little children and remember my brother. I noticing I have potential difficulties to say the things I want to in German, but I can understand quite well. I notice different behaviors in children when they were doing the plantation: some loved to touch the sand while others hated it so badly. Kindergarten is a good place to observe how human beings are.

Theatre Class
Based on Basti Monologue... Personal thought walking towards: Ethics X instinct
Which is linked with Anthro Class...

 When we talked about:
Meaning of life... Ethics X Instincts
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What to do when the gosh of your public image come back to disturb you? What should we do them?
How to be free of the old chains?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I loved Anthro class today. I could get all the logico-meaningfull and logico-structural aspects of functionalism way of thinking. But, besides I understand it, I loved the end. When we randomly discussed about meaning of life.
I loved when Mihir was honest enough to say: ''I wouldn't like to have migrants here in Germany. Why should I give a shit for it? My instincts drive me to think I have no business with this people. Nevertheless, I can't just think in terms of my own instincts. I also hold ethics''. I have no doubts about his ethics towards it.
Suddenly I realize there is a real world. A real world with people honestly enough to do not be a ''model direct linked with their moral standards''. They are not recruited to be part of the Chuck Norris army. He talked without demagogy. ''I don't like this people coming here''. He said it without feel bad or socially coerced to tell his natural feelings and instincts.
I am kind trained to feel bad about my sins and about my nature and do not really relay in instincts. As a Christian, I learn how to hold my moral values and not run away for my instincts. The fight between the flesh and the spirit.
Therefore, when I see this political correct people I cannot avoid thinking the political correctness is just another kind of religion.
However, for that I would have to admit (without fell guilt) religion is also a way of totalitarianism. Even in the ways I personally assume Christianity, because I believe in a divine moral standard is better than my own. ''His justice is better than mine'' as we would quote the bible.
But I would come with the reasoning which is quite unreasonable saying: ''I don't know why is His moral better than my own, but I am not smart enough to reach the complete God’s knowledge, so I am will relay in the order of moral things and events as the bible describe without argue''.

I really thought God as the guy who would be playing around with me. However, my empirical experience made me believe He is besides everything else, a loving God. In addition, having a relationship (that is how I describe my spiritual experience: I hate the term religion) I can figure how He is loving. That is what drives me to believe blindly in his morality. I can reason in His morality because I believe He is a loving God, but I can't reason how loving He is because it is based on my personal experience.

But coming back to political correctness:

Or am I saying political correctness is a religion just because it is totalitarian?
Well...

When we will be free without the pressure of having the mind colonized by the imperialism of certain values, being them from Religion or even from Political Correctness?
When will we stop to use the power of guilt to coerce people and convince them? Can we even believe in the power of coercion?
If I do not  believe in a ''guilt system'' as a way of converting someone, how can I be Christian?

Well...

Coming back to what I learn from this last 5 philosophical minutes (please, do that more often, Mihir!).

I wonder in which extend can we consider our instincts ''pure of ethics'' ? Since I born in a context with certain patterns of behaviors immerse in a certain mentality. Can I actually separate in the reality Ethic and Instinct when I see the whole picture?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My theatre class also made me pretty thoughtful in two senses:

1) In the play we are preparing: how do I link Ethics and Instinct based on the piece of writing Basti and me wrote. Once both talk mainly about an uncontrollable desire. How do we address an ethical reflection to the audience?

2) About the individual exploration we were working on I figure out how important is to think about Rape. The essay Katarina send to us is mostly talking about how there is so much shades of rape and in so many cases they are assisted in a very insensitive way by the court, claiming for medical exams confirming for example.
There is no such a thing as white and black every time.
In which extend can something be a rape?
Just physical or also emotional violation?
The borders are not exactly delimited.

It makes me connect with something, which is happening in Brazil right now. Apparently there is a new law towards the SUS (that is the public system of wealth) restricting even more the consults by women in case of sexual violence. The laws towards abortion are clearly more restrict now. (Abortion is allowed in Brazil in cases of rape).
But what can we call rape? Wasn't a sexual violence what the media have doing with women so far?
Me and two guys were today in the lunch were discussing how they though was unfair the fact they would love to be touched for a women in a party but how would be a scandal if a a boy do that with a girl.

How about the oppression of women always being objectified and being the means of consumption for male in pornography magazines? Even tough we have the male people naked and so one, women are portrayed as the strong sex while the women are always trying to please the other sex.

Oh well... How long have being our society raping and defrauding women conscience?

Another Facebook publication that made me quite reflexive:

One coment about the third play I found very powerfull:
Celine:'' about how the audience is in the front and need to watch static without take any action. It is very scary but most scary is to think it happens in real life but no one take action''

I ALREADY EXPEND 2 HOURS OF MY DAY DOING THIS REFLECTIONS.
TIME TO LEAVE!!

Petisco do dia

Insides about learning 25/10/2015 at 14:46, Freiburg Germany.

I was thinking about how intimidating can be the academic universe. Whoever speak more loudly and have a better english. Whoever mention certain names and certain statistics can be interpreted as a smart. Even thought the person is just saying 1+1 = 2.

Sometimes they say 1+1 =3 and we applaud.

The teachers shouldn't be worried when they say smart things to the students and they don't understand it. The teachers should be worried when they say something stupidity and the students don't react to it.

First global affairs of my second Year

Finally I found some free time to write about my global affairs notes. I have taken them since the beggining of the year but haven't writen anything.

Here I go :D

''It is not just one enviromental issue: because the whole life depends of that. Since the industrial revolution we started a crazy level of CO2 emissions what increased the rates of Global warming enorusmoly.
Events as:
-Hayan Storm in 2013 in Philippines: the scientists couldn't even categorize how strong it was.
-Global Ocean Acidification
-State Shifts: drought in Northen Mexico: ''has devastade crops and heads of livestock''. Desplacement is also conected to the issue: people without resourcs and land went to work alternatively with drugs.
-2008  food crisis.
-Tropical depression
-Loss and damage AND social safety: deal with international migration and ALL kinds of internal displacement.
-Loss and damage AND fisheries: the cost of Indonesia 20% - 25% demands of fish increasing
-Loss and damage AND Economic Development: people still need to pay to the FMI the costs about investiments due the natural disasters.
-Loss and damage AND Biodiversity: Bolivia and also Boral forest.
-Responding to Loss and Damage: Process under the Climate Convention:

Cop21: ''put the planet in the track'': once the urgency is becoming more dfficult to produce one effective way of Climate Justice.

More ideas:
Why should we care? ''Would be solved if the poluter would pay?''
Why do we need to seek for justice? ''Because the most vulnerable are the one's who will be affected. Ex: Pacific Islands.
Future generations: the impact of our consuption will be felt not just within our life time... Justice is not just what benefit us but what can benefit others.
Equity: developing countries also have the right to develop.

''Since 1997 we are trying to create something, a framework, one umbrela in a way the population is responsible to be more active in the government decisions''
Also to look at the role of UN, their past actions and what are they doing in the present moment.
United Nations is only one hundred and it attends the demands of the population.
Issues of climate change, mitigation, They are also promoting windpower in Indonesia. And in 2010 the ''Green Climate Founder'' need to be transformative.

Questions:
1)How does it fell like representing so many voices including when in sometimes you're representing people who do not have voice?
2)How could politic sistems play a role to be more enviromental friendly?
-Dictate;
-100% - 25% reduction of energy consumption.
3) Why did Compehagen fail?
-The COP9 Did not give a chance for small countries.
-We expected the develop countries take the assume the frond and intervin

4)What do we need do change?
-Respect and provide sovereinty
-Legal Framework: how we will do this? Taking small steps. Is needed a mix of education and political engagement.

5)Since the conference is about being enviromental friendly, why the member don't do that by skype rather than using plans to flight to the conference place?
-Not all the countries provide good internet conection.

22/10/2015 Public Debate CAS and Kita Kibz 21/10/2015 reflections and insides

Today I had CAS and we saw some examples how to refute certain arguments. There are 6 ways:
1)Attacking evidence
2)Attacking assumptions
3)Attacking impact
4)Attacking logic
5)Attacking ''hung arguments''
6)Attacking example

We watched the first affirmative and negative arguments of a debate competition. I was quite impressed with myself collecting the points of each side. I got it very nicely and precisely.
But what I mostly enjoy today was a simple but powerfull inside:

''Pretty much all arguments in the world can be refuted''

Haha if you have a hard mind about certain thing... Adios... You can be a hard person to convince because mostly everything can be refuted.

If before I was arguing with myself because I haven't had any inspiration to ask questions in GA, now I now concretely proven I can argue against all assumptions and logic or arguments.

I am happy to now that ;)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In Kita Kibz we are getting more and more structured now. Our guide is pretty much ambitious. She puts a lot of effort in what she does, trying to be puntual and organized.
We finished Urmel today and in the very end we did a interactive game asking the child in which point we stoped the history and making they ''learn how to fly and how to walk without face their noose in the floor'' with Urmel. It was very interesting and they enjoyed a lot. We may do it again!

Collecting nice quotes

I am reading the book called: ETHICS A Very Short Introduction by Simon Blackburn. :-)

Some quotes are quite nice and I will share here:

''there must be a course between the suggy sands of relativism and the cold rocks of dogmatism''

What does it mean being at UWC. - O que significa estar num UWC.

Being at UWC made my a new person. I can't imagine myself now if I hadn't be at a UWC before. Is just an amazing place. I have getting in touch with so many ideologies and points of view. We get in touch with real conflicts as they had jumped out of the televisions and sit next to you.
I had a friend who is refugee. I had another who lost her cousin in the Syria war. I have a friend who is completely socialist. I have another one who is completely capitalist. I have friends from Palestine. I have friends from Israel. I have gay friends. I have transgender friends. I have all the kinds of tastes of friend's taste: vegan, vegetarian, meat eaters. I have friends who are feminists and hate sexist jokes and swearing. I have friends who are feminists and love to use this because they think is playing with the taboo is how we overcome prejudices. I have buddhists, ateístic, muslim, undefined faith friends. I have friends with blue eyes from Latin America and black skin color from Germany. Here we have daily basis conversations about capitalism, sexism, etc. even during meals.
At UWC I found a salad of all colors. A human mosaic I could never found anywhere else.
I am so glad for our diferences. UWC is more than an interchange. It is more than living abroad.
UWC has the unique taste of UWC.
----------

Why and mindless person 19/10/2015

Ainda que o barco esteja parado, as ondas remam.

You. You really think I am a just mindless person? You think I am a superficial human being? Oh well, the highest point are regulated by the sea level. It is a referential issue: you might be so deep. But I am not a superficial one.
I might not have the anwser for all the questions in the world. But I am looking for it. Or do you think a mindless person would remain until the end to watch a debate about politics or faith? Of course I don't want to be an expectator in a debate every single time. But I understand everything is a process. Of course I criticize my own process, because I don't know if I can rely on it completely. One thing I know: I am looking for the anwsers in the world. Is not that I don't want to speak my mind.
But I am in a process. I am learning. I am educating myself and giving time to think and process what do I embrace.
I am casually angry with myself today. I don't know what to say about the israel palestine conflict. I know few things and it is enough to know Israel is oppressing Palestine. And I said to myself to do not touch on this topic specially in our school, because at some extend we would offend Yarden and Maya because they are from Israel. But also Mohammed and Marwan (from Palestine) are sad and irritated because no one is speaking about it! Should we remain in silence? Is it fair? So many people being killed and dying and we don't talk about it in a international community because we are fearful to offend someone?
Isn't that unfair? Even for people from Israel it would be beneficial because there is so many bad and misleading informations being spread in a way we don't know in what to relay in.
Let's be honest with ourselves. Let's face certain things and break the politics of silence. Our omission is not polite. Our ''misbehavior'' is more polite than our silence in this case.
The metod don't need to be polite every single time.
I am not tired of asking my question to others. But I think my teachers are tired of me. Or maybe I am a bad student. Or maybe their are bad teachers. Because a teacher should never fell bad because his student don't want to accept his ideas passively. The things shouldn't be tiring. Should be exciting for both.
Learning should be exciting for both.

Learning about how to learn.

Question about how to learn:

When do we reach the point of having enough data to say ''I am intellectually ready to stand for this position''
This feeling of being in a class fulfilled by brilliant students and your teacher -who is also very intellectual- come and ask you what is the color of the water and runs in your mind the combination of names of colors you even don't know they exist. Come to your mind the latest thing you could imagine. And you feel so pressured to be smart when you just need to give a simple answer to a simple question.
That is life: how many data do we need to stand for something? How many? What is the intellectual degree we need to reach to stand up and say: that's what a believe in even tough I am not a genius and one week later I might look at what I said and think ''what a stupid think I just said!'' ?

DO WE NEED TO READ THOUSANDS BOOKS TO HAVE A MINIMUM MORAL VERDICT?

WHY WE ARE SO BUREAUCRATIC WITH OUR MORAL INSTINCTS?

WHY DON'T WE LEARN HOW TO BE SIMPLE? WHY DO WE BUILD SO MANY BRIDGES
UNTIL REACH WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR?

Why are we procrastinating to be ourselves?

Why?

Question about anarchism 19/10

When small communities claim for freedom and autonomy, do they claim for creation of small communities everywhere around (in a global scale) or would they be fine just themselves being independent even though the rest of the world remain globalized ?

Refugees and North Korean Migration situation discussed by BBC reporters

Both speakers showed intervals between their speeches to show their documentaries.
I have watched by myself the one related to Refugees in Germany. I found it pretty much emotional. Was very difficult to me to handle the scenes related with children specially. Because I have a brother who is 6 years old and was almost impossible to do not cry when they come up with real histories about how children get lost of their parents; how other people take randomly children and just say to the authorities belong to them; how a small boy suffer a violent accident of car; the worst one was about a father saying to the reporter about how his children have seeing people being sentenced to death. What a sad image! Other about a mom who lost her son... So touching...
Anyways. You must figure out by yourself. That what was personally difficult to handle, for me at least.

About the video related to North Korea:
Was super weird and at some extend funny. Oh it really was, I am sorry. That is so absurd what is being said there. The speaker mentioned several experiences she had that had showed the intellectual dishonestly on that country. One was: ''I went to a library and the woman responsible for search by the books was proud of herself and trying to show off how many books do they have in their library (what was something between 21 thousand...Yeah, she really believe on that...).
She also showed a kind of ''UWC School'' in North Korea financed by foreign: a place full of militarism and idolatries of the death previous king. Oh my gosh but the way... I was so scared about it! They idolatry a death body of Kim Jong! What a creep thing.
Nevertheless, coming back to the school, what a contradiction. A country that proclaims itself as victims of USA Imperialist isolation, they do their lections in English. And in small steps the western ideas start to be spread and make youth people think against of the system. Evidently in a very shy way, but is a beginning. I also though (and it is my personal opinion, not what she said) there is so much high expectations about the western culture... almost as their values are the best one in the world. ''The

Salvation'' (something I need to think more about)

I did not have to many creative questions I think, but I will write down here the ones I found very thoughtful:

-In a sense the media being so bias and taking just about the concerns of the Migrants and being omissive in cases where there is also oppression by the small landowners who have their camps ocuppied by the people from other nations, contribute in a sense the weird nationalist parties use this lack of social-midiatic concern to acually justifiy the construction of the fancy. So, the fact the media is just focusing on the refugees wound't that contribute to oppression at least in the case of Hungria.

-As an individual he might have different opinions than what the institution he works for would want you to 'sell' so has you ever found yourself in that situation and so what has you done.

-There is a great amount of propaganda of unification. Even the western media when they do come up with so many jokes about North Korea, for example. How we will have an international solution if a country cannot be taken seriously? How can that be if USA for instance sit in the same table together for debate international, concerns and they may basically laughter at each other?

[all of them were addressed to the reporter]
